AngloGold Ashanti plc
Johannesburg
AngloGold Ashanti is one of the world's largest gold mining companies, headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, and listed on exchanges in Johannesburg, New York and London. Created in 2004 from the gold mining assets of Anglo American, the company operates mines across Africa, the Americas and Australia, producing more than 2.5 million ounces of gold annually.
Its operations include the Obuasi mine in Ghana, one of Africa's richest gold deposits, mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania, and operations in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Australia and the United States. AngloGold has shifted its portfolio toward higher-grade, lower-cost assets and is investing in renewable energy and autonomous mining technologies to reduce costs and carbon emissions.
For B2B buyers, AngloGold supplies gold doré and bullion to refiners, central banks and jewellery manufacturers, with long-term offtake agreements and industry-leading safety standards. Its global diversification, reserve base and improving cost profile make it a significant player in the international gold supply chain.
