Schneider Electric
Rueil-Malmaison
Schneider Electric began in 1836 as Schneider & Cie, an iron and steel foundry in Le Creusot, France, that built locomotives and armaments. The company's transformation into an electrical giant took a century of pivots — into electricity distribution, then automation — and was sealed in 1991 when it formally renamed itself Schneider Electric to reflect where the future actually was. The name change proved prophetic: the company is now the global leader in energy management and industrial automation.
The product range is the industry's most complete for electrical infrastructure: low- and medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, power monitoring, UPS systems, PLCs and industrial control systems, plus the EcoStruxure software platform that connects factory floors and building systems to the cloud. Its breakers and contactors are specified by engineers on every continent, and its factories are themselves showcases of the digital manufacturing it sells.
With about 150,000 employees and annual revenue near €36 billion, Schneider operates in over 100 countries and has staked its strategy on the electrification of everything — from EV charging to data centers to microgrids. For industrial and construction buyers, Schneider offers the rare advantage of one accountable vendor covering the entire electrical chain, from the utility feed to the factory floor.
