Delta Electronics was founded in 1971 by Bruce Cheng with a single thesis: power conversion could be done more efficiently. Five decades later, the company's switching power supplies — which convert wall current into the precise voltages that electronics need — are inside a significant share of the world's servers, telecom gear, and industrial equipment, and its products claim efficiency records above 97%.
Headquartered in Taipei and employing about 80,000 people, Delta is a dominant supplier of power supplies and cooling fans for data centers, and it has become one of the largest providers of EV charging infrastructure globally — its DC fast chargers are deployed by major charging networks in the US, Europe, and Asia. The company also makes industrial automation components, solar inverters, and energy storage systems.
Delta's procurement significance is double-edged: as a buyer it consumes huge volumes of semiconductors, magnetics, and aluminum; as a supplier it offers buyers of power components a rare combination of volume pricing, thermal design expertise, and a corporate commitment to energy efficiency that aligns with net-zero procurement targets.
