WASP S.r.l. was founded in 2012 in Massa Lombarda, in the province of Ravenna, Italy. The firm designs, produces and sells 3D printers made in Italy and distributes them worldwide. Its printer range addresses human needs grouped around food, housing, health, energy, work, art and culture. Named after the Potter Wasp, which builds its nest from locally gathered material, the company set out to create large-scale 3D printers capable of constructing houses from natural materials found on site. Technological innovation and research are central to its aims.
