Sofila is a French yarn designer and manufacturer founded in 1894, with more than 130 years of experience in yarn engineering and processing. The company develops custom, high-performance yarns for technical textile applications in counts from 10 to 25,000 dTex. It processes natural fibres such as cotton, silk and linen; artificial materials including viscose, acetate, lyocell, glass, metallics and ceramics; synthetics such as polyester, polyamide, bio-based yarns, elastane and polypropylene; and technical fibres including meta-aramid, para-aramid, high-tenacity synthetics, antistatic and modacrylics. An extensive machine park supports twisting, double twisting, fancy yarns, silk spinning, air covering, single and double covering, Hamel covering, FT texturing, yarn assembly and air texturing. An internal yarn analysis laboratory, a comprehensive quality process and an R&D team of a materials physics doctor and four engineers support development work.
