ALELOR
Food Processing
Alélor is a family-owned condiment manufacturer established in 1873 and located in Mietesheim, France, employing 20 people. It is the last mustard factory in Alsace and the sole horseradish root processing plant in the country. Mustard is produced by grinding seeds in a stone mill, while horseradish roots are peeled by hand. The company works with the Chamber of Agriculture to sustain local cultivation of mustard seeds and horseradish roots, relying on a short supply chain and strict raw material selection. More than 50 recipes are offered, including mustards, horseradish, ketchup, pickles, beets, pestos and spreads, some in organic versions. Products ship in jars or bulk quantities, from grams to tons, to restaurants, caterers and manufacturers in France and abroad. The fine grocery brand Domaine des Terres Rouges covers premium mustards, olive oils, balsamic vinegars and fruit pulp vinegars.
