RIM DRIVE TECHNOLOGY
Automotive Manufacturing
Rim Drive Technology manufactures electric rim drive motors at its site in Andelst, Netherlands, founded in 2019 with 20-49 employees. The product lines include POD motors as an alternative to inboard motors, steerable PODs with zero-turn steering, outboard systems, bow and stern thrusters, and subsea motors for underwater propulsion. The rim drive design has no centre shaft, which reduces the risk of ropes or fishing nets catching in the propeller, and uses a single rotating part to lower maintenance. Applications include unmanned surface vehicles, autonomous ferries, tour boats, workboats and sailboats.
