HIRATA Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer and distributor of industrial robots and logistics equipment, headquartered in Kumamoto. The company was founded in 1951, initially producing and selling industrial vehicles, and moved into agricultural products in 1958. A conveyor belt line followed in 1959, and a television assembly line began in May 1964. The firm developed its first robot-controlled machine in 1977 and subsequently concentrated on robotic logistics equipment. Its product range includes robotic controllers, SCARA robots, vertical articulated robots, Cartesian robots, soldering and desoldering equipment, sorters, and stopper cylinders. Operations extend across eight countries: Japan, Taiwan, the United States, Mexico, China, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
