ADAMA built its business on a deliberate strategic choice: rather than chase patented chemistry, it became one of the world's largest manufacturers of off-patent crop protection actives, and then wrapped its own formulations around them. For growers and distributors the appeal is straightforward — proven actives at competitive cost, without waiting for a patent to expire elsewhere. The company manufactures herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and plant growth regulators, alongside portfolio (combination) products built on post-patent actives plus proprietary formulation work. Manufacturing spans Israel — including the Ramat Hovav plant in the Negev — Brazil, India and China, which matters for buyers who need a second or third supply source rather than a single origin. The registration footprint is the quieter advantage. ADAMA's broad global registrations shorten time-to-market across many countries, and since 2020 the company has been part of the Syngenta Group, adding supply-chain scale.
