MOL Group is an international oil and gas company headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, founded in 1991 when the country's state monopoly was corporatized — the first such privatization in the former Eastern Bloc. The group employs about 24,000 people and generates annual revenue of roughly US$25 billion, operating in more than 30 countries across Central and Eastern Europe.\n\nMOL's integrated model spans upstream exploration and production in Hungary, Croatia, the North Sea, and Pakistan; refineries at Százhalombatta (Hungary), Bratislava (Slovakia), and Rijeka (Croatia) with a combined capacity of about 20 million tonnes per year; and a retail network of nearly 2,000 service stations under the MOL, Slovnaft, and INA brands. The group is investing heavily in its 'Shape Tomorrow' strategy, building one of the largest waste-to-chemical recycling plants in Europe and developing green hydrogen production at its refineries, alongside geothermal and solar projects.\n\nFor industrial buyers, MOL is the anchor fuel and lubricant supplier for the Danube region, with its MOL and Slovnaft lubricants sold across Europe, and a significant buyer of refinery technology, drilling services, and EV-charging equipment as it expands its mobility network.
