Galp Energia, SGPS, S.A.

Lisbon

Galp is Portugal's largest energy company, formed in 1999 through the merger of the state oil company Petrogal and the gas company Gás de Portugal. Headquartered in Lisbon, the group employs about 6,500 people and generates annual revenue of roughly EUR 20 billion from upstream oil and gas, refining, and a fast-growing low-carbon business.\n\nGalp's upstream operations are anchored in Brazil's pre-salt province, where its stakes in the Bacalhau and other Santos Basin fields make it one of the largest foreign investors in Brazilian oil, alongside partnerships in Mozambique's LNG projects and Namibia's emerging oil frontier. Its Sines refinery on Portugal's Atlantic coast is one of Europe's most flexible and complex refineries, and the company operates a retail network of more than 1,400 service stations across Portugal and Spain. Galp is executing an aggressive energy transition: it is building one of Iberia's largest solar portfolios, developing green hydrogen projects at Sines, and investing in advanced biofuels and electric-vehicle charging.\n\nFor industrial buyers, Galp supplies fuels, lubricants, bitumen, and petrochemicals across the Iberian market, and its Sines industrial hub — refinery, solar plant, and planned hydrogen electrolyzer — is becoming one of Europe's showcase sites for integrated low-carbon energy production.
