SGL TECHNOLOGIES GMBH

SGL TECHNOLOGIES GMBH operates a carbon fiber site in Wackersdorf, Upper Palatinate, Germany, within the Carbon Fibers business unit of SGL Carbon. The company was founded in 1878. Around 140 employees produce mats and nonwovens from carbon, glass or natural fibers, with more than 150 product variants. Stacking operations use three machines capable of over 2 million stacks annually, cutting and joining mat layers to customer specifications for conversion into preforms or finished components. Annual output exceeds 8,000 tons of fiber mats. Applications are mainly automotive and aerospace. Recycling plants reuse production residues, and all facilities run on green electricity. SIGRATEX textile materials serve as substrates for fiber-reinforced plastics.
