Sandstrahl Bay GmbH

Sandstrahl Bay GmbH is a surface treatment service provider based in Esslingen, Germany, founded in 1964 by Bernhard Bay as a sole proprietorship in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt. The company processes steel casting, stainless steel, aluminum, glass beads, corundum, and plastic. Its services encompass shot blasting, vibratory finishing, tumbling, controlled surface hardening, paint stripping, degreasing, and corrosion protection. Starting as a one-man operation, it grew to seven employees by 1982. A branch was established in Ludwigsburg in 1983, and in 1984 the business became a GmbH with Bernhard and Sybille Bay as managing directors. In 1985/1986, both operations merged at a new site in Esslingen, where the service program was expanded, rationalized, and modernized through the acquisition of various machines.
