NOK Corporation is a Tokyo-based manufacturer within the NOK Group, founded in 1941, producing sealing, rubber and electronic products. Its product lines include mechanical seals, O-rings, sealing washers, metal seals, vacuum seals, magnetic seals, actuators, solenoid valves, accumulators, flexible printed circuits (FPC), office automation equipment and functional membranes. These serve the automobile, construction machinery and electronic equipment industries. The company built plants in Kumamoto, Fujisawa and Shizuoka in 1960, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 1961, and in 1979 established a US production base ahead of any Japanese automaker.
