HIAT GmbH

HIAT GmbH, founded in August 2002 and located in Schwerin, Germany, develops application-oriented system solutions built on PEM fuel cells and PEM electrolysis cells for portable and stationary use. Operating independently of individual companies and industries, the institute conducts research, development and technology transfer through publicly initiated projects and industry commissions, and also distributes its own products. A Hydrogen Competence Center established in Schwerin in 2004 provides specialized laboratories, workshops and research equipment for chemical and physical work, serving companies and start-ups in fuel cell and hydrogen technology. The center occupies premises within Schwerin's Research and Technology Park. HIAT seeks to strengthen its position in hydrogen and fuel cell technology, particularly in core component development.
