Girlinger & Co GmbH was founded in 1955 by Hans Girlinger in Lembach, Upper Austria, and operates under the protected brand GIHALE. The family business began with a patented hose pipe for wooden barrels and later developed pourers and closures for spirits, wine and sparkling wine bottles, including a patented, award-winning portioner. Since the mid-1980s the company has worked in electronically computer-controlled dispensing systems, starting with electronic spirit portioners and later developing a bottle valve with an integrated chip for controlled pouring of spirits, wine and other beverages. Dispensing system manufacturers, wholesalers, spirit producers, gastronomy businesses and private consumers rely on its technology.
