4S IT-SOLUTIONS AG

4S IT-SOLUTIONS AG is a Kaiserslautern-based full-service IT provider founded in 1998. It originated as a Fraunhofer spin-off named SWA Software Akademie AG, established in the PRE-Park following a market study by WFK Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Kaiserslautern with the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering. Initial activities centred on further education in bioinformatics, software development documentation and internet-related programming. The company received the Further Education Award Rheinland-Pfalz in 2002. Its scope later widened to software development, service and security, and it rebranded to 4S AG in 2005, reflecting the four pillars of service, support, software development and training.
